A mining company with a significant high-grade copper project in Botswana will begin construction later this year.

Cupric Canyon has announced this week that it will begin construction at its Khoemacau Copper project, located in Bostwana, in October this year.

The company is expecting to begin selling copper from the project in 2021.

Speaking to Reuters, Jophannes Tsimako, a manager at the Khoemacau project, revealed that the project will produce around 60,000 tonnes of copper per year.

He also said that by the year 2023, Khoemacau will produce in excess of 100,000 tonnes of copper per year.
